The Boys’ Latin School libraries are designed to support the educational goals and mission of the school. The library department has three main goals in its mission statement:

-Provide a resource center for students to gain answers to their informational questions and research
-Instill in students the desire to become lifelong readers
-Create a diverse collection and program that promotes intellectual freedom for all students and staff

The library card catalog is online and accessible to students and faculty from home.
Boys’ Latin has three libraries each tailored to meet the specific needs of the population it serves.

The Carolyn Smith Library serves students and faculty in grades K-5. The boys come to the library for a weekly class in literature appreciation, information literacy, and library skills. Our 13,000 volume collection includes print, audio and video titles that have been selected with boys in mind. Library programming includes several book clubs, a book fair, a birthday book program, and author visits. The Carolyn Smith Library houses a collection for parents and is open to the greater Boys’ Latin community.

The Middle School Library is a collaborative learning center which includes print and electronic resources to advance learning and support the curriculum.  It nurtures a culture of reading among its students and faculty. It also acts as a center for social and cultural events that support our sense of community.

The Upper School Library provides students with materials necessary to support their learning and assists in their quest for knowledge. Students are able to access both the library’s print and online resources. Research techniques are taught in collaboration with content subject areas.
