Laker Corps

Laker Corps was established in 2003 to emulate Math Department Chair and Laker Corps founder Mrs. Molly Mullally’s experience in the Peace Corps. The Laker Corps club continues to grow in popularity.

Upper School members of The Laker Corps regularly visit classrooms in the lower and middle schools, and make lasting impressions on many younger Lakers. Upper school students participate in a variety of classroom and recess activities, such as “teaching assistant” type tasks, reading to students, informal tutoring and leading classroom discussions.

For faculty and students alike, some of their best memories and bonding experiences emanate from their interactions with Laker Corps members. As a school which highly values the education and develop of one’s personal sense of integrity, responsibility and compassion for others, the Laker Corps experience is a highly prized and valuable experience.

You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.  Clay P. Bedford
